"Graduated" cosplay medics who have made their mark in the cosplay community.
About Us
Qiqi's Cosplay Medics started in 2022, when Qiqi was doing her final year project for her Master's degree in Design Innovation Management. The goal of the project was to solve or improve on an existing issue in any community that the student was passionate about. Having been a cosplayer since 2016, Qiqi chose to research on the cosplay community in Malaysia.​
Qiqi found that costume malfunctions were very common among cosplayers in Malaysia. Although there were local cosplay medics, not many people knew about their existence or where to find them. After speaking with the local cosplay medics, she also discovered that they faced issues which hindered them from carrying out their work, such as crowded spaces, heavy baggage, and lack of a surface space.

Finally, Qiqi innovated a Cosplay Medic Cart, which can help cosplay medics to organise and access their tools easily. She also outlined things that cosplay medics and event organisers can do to improve the convention experience for cosplayers.

As of 2025, Qiqi has now gathered a team of 13. We are the official cosplay medics for World Cosplay Summit Malaysia 2025, and also Explorer Members under the World Cosplay Summit Malaysia Alliance Partners (WCSMAP). We have had cosplay repair booths in over 15 events, and appeared in over 20 events in total. Check out our full portfolio on the Portfolio page of this website!
